Multiple versions/ports of a given game, or just the best version?

On Playstation for example I wouldn't mind ports of Gamecube or Xbox ports if those are the best version of a given game. Of course this is always subjective and maybe hard to implement due to rights issues, but I'd just like to put this request out here anyways. Sometimes Gamecube versions would have better effects, PS2 versions would have more content, Xbox would have bigger levels, etc. I'd really like it if we either got a definitive editiin - if possible - or the ability to choose the platform in addition to the region. Same deal with current games like Toy Story 3 where only the PSP version was released, but not the PS2 one.

I hope this comes for games with ps2/psp versions. Maybe it could be done with games that have ps3/wii/xbox versions but I don't know how realistic it could be doing that. I would like it on games like Spongebob Truth or Square that only has a psp version and no ps2/ps3 version while there is a Xbox and Wii version.
